New Year, Fresh Start – Reflecting on an Incredible First Year at Barrel & Bond

After a successful year, we're rolling onto some new adventures!

The New Year always brings a sense of excitement, reflection, and fresh beginnings — and for Barrel & Bond Whisky Tasting, this one feels especially meaningful. As we step into the year ahead, I’m proud to look back on what has been a truly successful first year in business.

Launching Barrel & Bond started as a passion project, but it quickly became something much bigger. Welcoming my first ever customer was a milestone I’ll never forget — the moment it all became real. From there, momentum grew quickly, leading to our first restaurant collaboration, which was an incredible experience and a huge confidence boost.

Throughout the year, I’ve been lucky enough to host multiple tastings for milestone birthdays, hen dos, and stag dos. These events have been some of the most rewarding — bringing people together, celebrating special moments, and creating memorable experiences over great whisky. Watching guests connect, laugh, and learn more about whisky is exactly why Barrel & Bond exists.

A Year of Growth & Learning

Beyond the bookings and milestones, this year has been about personal growth and understanding. Running a business has pushed me outside my comfort zone, taught me resilience, and helped me develop new skills — from hosting and storytelling to marketing and operations. Every event has helped refine the experience I offer, ensuring each tasting is better than the last.

Expanding into Corporate Events & Weddings

As we move into the New Year, Barrel & Bond is excited to be expanding into corporate events and weddings. From team-building tastings and client entertainment to elegant wedding experiences, I’m looking forward to bringing something unique to these celebrations.

Whisky tastings offer a sophisticated yet relaxed way to entertain guests, whether it’s during a drinks reception, evening celebration, or corporate gathering. This next chapter marks an exciting evolution for the business, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
